Community Health Educator (2014 – 2016)
- Developed curriculums and conducted workshops: HIV Prevention, Men as Partners, Malaria Prevention, Sexual Reproductive Health, and Nutrition
- Conducted pre- and post-tests for persons with disabilities to assess improvement in health knowledge and awareness. Post-test assessments revealed:
- (i) HIV Prevention workshops lead to over 70% of participants scoring greater than 75% with 42% receiving a score of 100%;
- (ii) Malaria Prevention workshops resulted in 80% of participants receiving a score of 80% or higher with 62% scoring 100%; and
- (iii) Reproductive Health workshops lead to over 50% of participants receiving a score of 70% or higher.
- Trained healthcare workers to provide accessible healthcare services to persons with disabilities
- Received two grants from U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to organize two HIV testing campaigns for persons with disabilities in collaboration with the Bamenda Regional Hospital
- Organized a three-day workshop that was funded by USAID and Mobility International USA to provide training for women with disabilities on legal rights, health and education
- Spoke weekly on Cameroon Radio Television Network (CRTV) about disability and health issues
- Participated in HIV/AIDS Trainings: Working with People Living with HIV, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, and Men as Partners
- Provided training to new Peace Corps Volunteers on approaches to conduct a Community Needs Assessment
